About

Shane Skelton, CPA/ABV, CVA

Shane Skelton grew up in San Clemente and Mission Viejo. He received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the California State University San Marcos and is Masters in Accountancy from San Diego State University.

For over the last decade he has worked at several CPA firms in San Diego specializing in closely held businesses and their individual owners.  While working he completed is CPA license. In addition to tax compliance and consulting, Shane specializes in business valuation services for a variety of applications including estate and gift taxes, buy or sell transactions and transition planning.

Shane enjoys working closely with clients to ensure their tax compliance and consulting needs are met efficiently. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, daughter and son. He enjoys, cooking, sailing, mountain biking and gardening.

Paul Dutton, CPA
Julie Dutton, Office Administrator

Paul Dutton was raised in Libby, Montana. He received his BA in Accounting from the University of Montana, Missoula in 1985.  After graduation, he moved to San Clemente and took a few years off from accounting to work for his uncle’s construction business.

In 1989, he started his accounting career working for LW Skelton, CPA at 1450 N. El Camino Real in San Clemente. He received his CPA certification in 1998.  In December, 2001, Paul purchased the accounting practice from Mr. Skelton and started Dutton Accountancy Corporation.  In 2007, the office moved to the Rancho San Clemente Business Park to its current location at 940 Calle Negocio, Suite 120.

Paul’s wife, Julie, is the office manager.  Prior to managing the office, Julie was a 911 police dispatcher, supervisor and manager for over 20 years.  She started her career at the Manitowoc Sheriff’s Department in Wisconsin.  After moving to California in 1982, she worked as a 911 dispatcher at the Garden Grove Police Department in California.  She was promoted to a supervisor and manager during her career.  Julie left her law enforcement career in 2002 when Paul purchased the accounting practice.   Julie continues to make fresh baked cookies daily from scratch during tax season along with mochas, lattes and cappuccinos.  Some clients even put in special requests for their favorite cookie before their appointments.

Paul and Julie live in San Clemente and have one son and one daughter.  They enjoy spending several weeks of the summer at the Dutton family cabin in northwest Montana.
